Leather steering wheel wrap?

Has anyone removed their leather steering wheel wrap? It looks possible but you never know what may be lurking underneath. I am one of the many with a discolored steering wheel and I am looking to replace it with an aftermarket one. Anybody try the wheelskins? How is the quality? Any input would be great....

I have the wheelskins and I just placed it over the top of the current leather wrap. I'll tell you what, I am overly impressed with wheelskins. I have the black and gray semi perforated wrap.
