Thanks for the post. I think that they are referring to the production launch in 1999. We saw our first ST in spring of 2000. I don't know where the journalist sees it as a small following; we see ST's all over the place.

Rodger is right, production of the ST begain on 12-6-99, with orders beginning in August of 99 (9-23-99). But, officially, the ST wasn't available until 1-1-00, which allowed Ford to call it an '01 model instead of a '00 if it were launched officially in '99.

Ford seems to sell quite a few STs every year for it being a small following.

It shows Ford needs to spend more time at increasing the mpg in their present trucks rather then just provide more power. Gas prices are not going to go down that much and some predict we may be paying over $5 a gallon before long. SUV and truck sales are going to suffer the most since most people that drive them really don't need them.
