Here the price difference is about .20 a gallon... ( $4.00 a tank @ 20 gallons)

I will keep spending the $4.00 to keep the performance I get...

I will not get desert when I eat out, OR cut back that extra coffee, Save the $ some where else...

Hell, I can't even run 87 in mine without it sounding like a diesel. So I run 89 just to save myself the annoyance. I'm like Todd though, it's not that much difference per tank.;)

I don't know if it's the same where you guys are, but here, 87 costs XX, 89 costs XX + $.10, and then 93 costs XX + $.30! It's an extra $6 for me...but it's still worth it.

When I try to bring the ST back down to regular 87 it starts to run horrible, and over revs the throttle. It keeps it in the wrong gear till I hit enought rmps then goes back.

Woppy, drive like a human being and see what the mileage comes out to be with the lower octane. It may be lower than what your performance tune was producing for you.

I found in my Lexus that the lower octane gas drops my mileage by almost the exact difference from the cost of the higher gas as compared to the miles per gallon difference. Sooo, I go with the higher octane as I figure it must be better for the engine over-all...

The fuel prices are already hitting Starbucks. People cutting out that extra Latte dinged their 1st Qtr numbers by 28%. Ouch. That's a lots fewer of cups of coffee!

I hear ya, Im on 89, but man its crazy paying $100 to fill up the STA for about 400km, and drive as much as I do. 5000km already, had 13km when I got it.

I am doing a test on this now, we have 86 octane here. testing the difference in mpg between 86 and 91. I think the difference will not change the price. So far, I am getting 21.5 on the highway with 86. I was getting 22.4 on 91. Is it worth the .20 for the difference in price. I think the .20 difference is worth the performance._Ron
