Here's some interior shots from the Explorer XLT. Very similar interior, except for some of the trim colors and options such as the white gauges on the ST.

There better be alot more there than meets the eye... I for one dont see anything special except a fugly grill kit. Some realy cheap looking running/nerf bars and some f-150 tail lights slaped on.. I am sure ford has done alot of good under the sheet metal but come on guys. All that cloak and dagger going on lead some of us to expect a real eye turner. This "new " model is so similar it hardly deserves the label of new body design. If I got one the same color as mine and put the same accesorys (brush guard, cargo basket, rear bumper guard, ect ) and started driving it I bet no one would even notice. And of course Ford will inflate the cost to cover the retool and R&D expence HA HA HA:lol: I guess I will just keep on crusing in my 01 and not go into debt for a bunch of nothing. Is anyone out there atleast a little dissapointed????

Oh yea and thanks Larry for the exclent pics..

Sweet looking Trac, but don't know if I would pay what Ford will be wanting.

I have spent over 4 grand on mods for my 2005 and have personally installed everyone of them. I have a lot of blood, sweat, & time involved. Enjoyed every minute of it too.

As I sure most of you have also done. We each have our own look. Going back to a stock vehicle makes me think twice. It's nice to have people stare when you pull up to a stop light.

Especially if one of the staring is another Trac owner.

I know some would say boy is he conceited our what. If it looks good it looks good.

I will have to see if any lifts become available for it before id buy, most likely not with the irs (i really like the round fog lights on ours too). i like the 300 or so horses and 6 speed auto, but for me its probly gonna be out of my price range for a while.

Great pics! Thanks Todd and Larry. The new ST looks sweet and from what I can see through the doors, I really like the looks of the dashboard, center stack and console with floor shifter.

The center console looks awlful close to the back seat. Did the new Trac lose half of the rear seat legroom? That is the primary reason why I bought an ST over anything else on the market. If they reduced the leg room in back, they'll never sell the new one to me. :(

I believe the concept vehicle was much sportier looking. I think Ford may have shot themselves in the foot when they designed the original trac. It was so contemporary, cleanly yet excitingly designed that it would almost be impossilbe to replicate when a new body style became needed. I'll agree the inside looks 100% better, I like the shift on the floor and the instrument panel and the seats. Outside though from whatever angle it appears you look you see styling cues from other vehicles-(some even the competetion.) I see nothing really new or sporty about the pectures in the track. I bet before we see these on the dealers showrooms the front end will be redesigned somewhat. I must say to that I am not a fan of the tailights at all either. With a V8, a more "custom" front end and rear lights and It might be the beginnings of a new model that would stand out from the pack better. Just my opinion though. I'd say the unveling was a pretty major disappointent for me.

Nelson, I think the angle of the picture creates an optical illusion. If you eyeball from the center of the rear seats to the top of the console, I see maybe a foot-and-a-half clearance.

It's too tame looking... looks like a truck my 75 year old Dad would consider buying to haul a lawn mower in or something. The first generation has my nod right now, but considering some of the ways you guys around here can trick out trucks, I'm going to hold my final opinion until I see a new one in the flesh. Thanks for the pics!

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...totally different than the concept.

I'm very disappointed but hopefully the pictures don't do it justice. The interior looks like it is trying to be modern but it is very stripped down and weird looking. What happened to the radio? I will definitely be keeping mine. Hopefully the SVT will be like the concept with a reasonable price.

George, keep in mind the interior shots (close ups) are NOT the ST. They are an Explorer XLT. I should've shot the interior of the Eddie Bauer X instead as it's closer to the ST with white gauges, and the nav system.

I'm sorry but it looks cheap. I'm wonder why Ford designer don't take the time and put more effort in designer their interior.... so it look like a luxury vehicle in stead of looking so cheap. Look @ a Nissan interior and and be the judge .the price is not much more than Ford.

My wife has a Nissan Titan and for what the F150 was selling for we got the Titan because we were getting more for the money

Star,

I have looked at a Nissan Titan interior. I compared it to an F-150. Besides the obvious clone job Nissan did with the F-150's interior, the Nissan feels very cheap. Maybe my feel of quality of vehicle interiors if flawed, but I have compared the Camry to the Taurus, Pathfinder and Xtera to the Explorer, Tacoma to the Ranger, and others. I do not feel the so called quality of the Japanese interiors the everyone thinks is so nice.

My niece has a 1996 Tacoma. The only impressive thing with the Tacoma is the 4 piston solid mount calipers. The rotors are about the same size as the Escort GT ones are. The interior is cheap and made of industrial grade hard plastic.

My cousin just got a Nissan Xtera. I took it for a test drive. I have yet to feel the quality of a Nissan. Honestly, I did give it a fair shake. I was hopeing to be "wow'd" by it. I was greatly dissapointed by it.

This 2007 exterior looks like sh!t I am glad i have a 2001, wouldnt trade it for 2007, no way. It just looks too long in the front, pretty stupid looking. Guess if i get tired of my 2001, i will be moving out of the Ford family.
