Yesterday was the annual Toms River ice cream festival and challenge. All the area ice cream shoppes get together and put out thier best creations on the riverfront. Hoffman's of Point Pleasant won with "fudge mint cookie". 2nd was "s'mores" from my friends from Sprinkle Shack and 3rd went to Zita's with "91716" (vanilla, carmel and chocolate covered pretzels). Vanilla, as it is the purest of ice creams has its own catagory. It was a wonderfully filling day with so many samples but well worth it, Bob.
Blue Bell Ice Cream is great with a lot of terrrific flavors. Some of my favorites are
Lemon Curd, Key Lime Pie, Stawberry Cheesecake, and Tin Roof.
Tin Roof has peanuts and chocolate in a vanilla ice cream that reminds me of the old "Drumstick" ice cream cones that were dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with chopped peanuts.
