Need some help.

Looking at Flowmaster 50 series SUV mufflers for my 2010 V8 Adrenalin but am having the hardest time finding one that is made for the STA. Does anyone know the exact sizing of the intake/out and the correct offsets that I need or a decent seller that knows their products? I'm getting a lot of replies from these websites of "check with your dealer".

Anyone have any recommendations for a good sound other then the flowmasters?

Thanks everyone!

DONT waste your time with any thing !!!!!!!!

Just cut and remove the Factory FRONT resonator.....

Here is what I did on my 2010 adren and I LOVE IT !!!

I have videos too... Will post that link too !!

I wonder what it would sound like,if. You remove the muffler and leave the resonator. Resonators are nonthing more than a glass pack.

Thanks Todd Z. I think that's exactly what I'm looking for. A little more V8 growl without waking the neighbors. I'll let you know how it sounds after the mods (hopefully next week...my Trac's a giant popcicle right now) lol.

Tim,

Cool deal....

Ed,

The front resonator on the Gen 2 is a HUGE container, Larger then the muffler, and packed SOLID with crap in it....... I would not leave it in there...

I respectfully disagree with Todd. I did the same exhaust mod he did and it sounded like crap to me. The muffler also makes a strange noise with the new found exhaust flow speed. I would go with a Magnaflow. It sounds demonic!

Todd, are you saying the resonator on the trac is not straight thru?

Some I have seen in the past were basicly a glass pack. Muffler shops around me use glass packs for replacements.

The muffler is nearly straight through. It's baffled. The resonator is not straight through. That's why the muffler makes a strange noise upon heavy load. Without the resonator taking it out first, you hear everything... good and bad.

I'd take the resonator off and leave the stock muffler on. If you're ok with the sound then you don't have to go any further. If not, you can get a Magnaflow that is almost the same size, straight through and stainless.

Isnt the resonator the smaller of the 2? It appears to be straight thru. The ones I have looked at in the past were. With a perforated tube and glass packing.

Not doughting you. Just new to me.

NO, the larger FRONT is the resonator and it is NOT straight thorough on the GEN2....

Cary, I got pics and vids and many members that heard the Adren in person......

Todd,

I know exactly what it sounds like in person. It sounds fine. I did the exact same exhaust mod you did. I did it because you did it. I even brought pictures of your exhaust to my shop so they could replicate it perfectly (wanted the sound you had in your vids exactly).

I've had a Gen2 Adrenalin V8 before with a Magnaflow and I knew right away that there was a big difference in sound between your resonator delete and a Magnaflow retrofit.

My wife also noticed a difference is sound from 2008 STA w/ Magnaflow and the 2010 STA resonator delete. She really noticed a difference when I switched the 2010 STA from resonator delete to the Magnaflow.

All I'm saying is that you're leaving some sound quality on the table. I'm not saying your mod is bad or anything.

For me, the most important mod is the exhaust. You hear it at every RPM and it's a direct gratification mod. I'm probably a little more of a perfectionist with exhaust, than I am with any other mod.

For the money, its really hard to beat a resonator delete. I'd recommend everyone to do that first. It doesn't cost much more to change your mind later and add a performance muffler. So, if you're happy with the resonator delete....you can save some coin.

I agree, Do the delete first and on the Adren since there is no kit... Its no big deal to spend an extra $100.00 and just add the magnaflow muffler.......

thats still cheaper then a complete kit.....

Most members are cost conscientious, so if you want the sound with out the crazy money, then just do a delete and or just a muffler as there is no kit any way for the adren...

I want to get a gen2 with magnaflow next to the adren so i can hear the exact differance....
