multi function switch

hi all,



i've been searching every where for info on this problem, i have a 2007 sport trac and intermitant wipers dont work. i know we can remove the multi function switch and clean it. the only problrm is that all the info out there talks about a scew under the cover of the switch, well i dont have that and its quite dificult to find a way to remove the peg like bolt that there any help would be great

The column cover must be removed first. What are you doing in this pic?

i intended on removing the end cap and removing the multi function switch to clean it up to see if that was the problem , but i cant get any further than this.

I don't believe the switch is designed to be taken apart, it must be replaced.

Hope searching will provide more info. Replacement is a Motorcraft SW-6378.
