need help asap--fuel pump fuse location

Thanks, I just received my Xcal2 tuner & need to remove the fuel pump fuse. I lost my manual quite some time ago, anyone know which fuse it is? Thanks

Mines a '01

It should be a yellow 20 amp fuse in the under hood fuse box.

Sorry man, I thought it might be the same as mine. I use to have an 01, but I now have an 04 and the Ford OEM service and electrical books. I'm sure someone with an 01 will pipe up.

It is not necessary, just precautionary. I have never removed mine either, no problems.

I wish my replacement Xcal2 would get here as fast as the original one did. I had to send the original one back because it would not flash. So, you're lucky you get to play with yours over the weekend, vanilla! Very jealous here.

why do the fuel pumps have the be disengaged???

Andy, With the OLDER x-cals for safety reasons you eliminate the chance of any voltage draw causing a problem while re programing the computer...

The newer ones do not require this, but it is a good safety practice..
