So I was looking at the new 2007 ST pics and notices that there is no sliding back window? Is that how the new ST is made? Also, what about the rear radio and heat/AC controls? - Heather

Heather, the power rear window won't be available until later in the 2007 model year.

The rear AC vents are still in the center console, although I don't recall if Ford said there were power controls for the vents.

The rear radio controls are gone.

Wow, I think that the power rear window is one of the coolest things on the Trac, I'll be waiting until that option is available to purchase the new Trac.

Heather I agree also.. Maybe we can buy them at the same time from the same dealer and get a bigger discount??...hmm :D

I like the current model better. Althought, the SVT that we saw pictures of a little while ago looked hot. If the production SVT stays close to the prototype, I may look into that one.

Ape Out.

I think in 2007 i will finally buy a nice used '04 or '05 lol. I' like to find one, definitely silver again, with less than 20k. I just think the '07 will be way to much money. BTW does anyone know the starting prices for the '07s??

Thanks

Andy

I do agree about the rear window. Incredibly useful feature.

I've had the rear radio controls for 5 years and they have been used approximately three times. I'd gladly sacrifice those controls for the new stuff, particularly the safety and comfort improvements of the new model.

If a vehicle has to have all possible options, then it has to be priced like a luxury vehicle, and I don't want to see that happen with the ST. I prefer to see the ST slightly "de-contented" of marginal features in exchange for stuff it has to have (performance, ride & handling, safety) to compete successfully in the market.

Ford has to make money on these to keep selling them. And to keep selling them, the price has to be competitive. There is no free lunch.

I reach back and control my radio from the rear controls all the time!

The rear window is what first drew my attention to the Trac. Kewl!

The V6 will probably be competative with the current pricing of the ST. The V8 option will boost the price tag quite a bit I suspect.
