Johnny, could you imagine trying to drive that around here, you'd get swallowed by a medium sized pothole.

Ya, the VW is interesting, but you can't park that one in your office,,,:bwahaha:

About 25 years ago Popular Mechanix magazine showed a two seater, 3 wheeled car you could build from a motorcylce. (had to send off for plans) It used an old VW Beetle front axle w/twin torsion bar suspension. The difference between that one and either one of these designs is that it had racy styling and the front resembled a DeLorean.

I think the home built car used a Kawasaki 1100 cc motorcycle for the power source, got about 100 MPG and was very fast! They said it took some practice to take off from a stop without doing burn out. The transmission was shifted by a floor mounted shifter with a motorcycle clutch lever mounted on the shifter....so you just had to squeeze the handle and pull the lever back to upshift, and push the shifter forward to down shift. Great design.

Top Gear tested a vintage three-wheeler also.

You'd think they'd have had a wheel or roller on the driver's side to help with it's obvious design flaw! That was hilarious.
