OH Console Temp Reading

My temp reading is fairly accurate at startup and for the first few miles of driving. Then it goes up 20+ degrees above the actual outside temp and stays that high. ANy ideas on problem/solution?

I removed the sensor unit, cleaned contacts and reinstalled and still have problem. Grill is clear of any debris and sensor is securely mounted.

The sensor it self could be bad....

Put the sensor in a cup of Ice water after 4 min or so it should read 32 degrees. If not something is out of calibration...

I have the same problem, although it reads much higher than 20 degrees above actual.

Mine takes forever to update. Why can't it be more sensitive?



Seems ford needs some help with sensors and guages. Maybe the same guy who invented the non-moving oil pressure guage also invented the temperature sensor?
