I didn't say I am for sure not buying Ford, but I am checking out the competition at the end of this lease and I will see what happens.

Why the hell would you consider buying from a company you just got out of because of problems? Do you like throwing away money into something that is nothing more than a headache. I am sorry, but I don't know why people keep supporting a company that just gives monkeys screwdrivers and tells them to build a vehicle. That goes for more companies than just Ford. If the thing is junk, don't buy from the same company again! It's not rocket science.

Shhhh. I just wanted to keep Caymen happy. :p First I will see what the diagnosis is on Monday if the leak-stop doesn't work. My truck is used for my work and I get payed mileage. Therefore I have a set budget on how much my lease payments can be each month. I will have to see what the payments on the Tundra Crew cab are. Right now the sticker price on the loaded version is pretty close to my Lariat. The only difference will be that Ford will come down more in price. So it will come down to confort (since I spend 8-10 hours a day in or around my truck), how it drives and price. I will see if anything else pops up (or off) on this truck before then as well, if any other problems crop up it will be my last Ford.

I have had 7 Ford's in the last 10 years, currently have 5 in the driveway, a Dodge, and a Toyota. The current 5 are an 06 Focus zx5, an 06 Ranger STX, an 01 ST, a 99 Merc Sable, and a 93 Mustang LX. Focus and ST, problem free. Sable -- new tranny and now has bad heater core. Mustang, tranny rebuild at 135k (needed a solenoid -- had em rebuild since it was apart) and needs an AC Clutch. Ranger -- 2 new O2 sensors at about 7k, replaced under warranty. Would I buy another? In a minute, if it was the right vehicle for me.

All vehicles have issues at some point. 50k miles on his SC in 2 years, did he flush the radiator somewhere along the line? We don't know. maybe there was a bad weld somewhere? maybe a bad radiator cap caused the pressure to get to high. He has had a few problems corrected under warranty, ok. Only 1 was a real failure, one was a need for lube, and one was from teh factory... could happen to any vehicle. It's not like he got a darn lemon.

As for the battery, sounds like the weather is pretty rough there. My OEM battery just started giving me an issue... at 20F it was a little slow to start, after almost 6 years. I think I can afford to buy a new battery, I got my moneys worth out of this one, but I live in FL so the weather is pretty mild.

Buddy just got a 07 GMC Sierra Z71 4wd. Want to bet how long it is before he has some sort of an issue that requires work? I'd venture to say something will need to be replaced in less that a year.... it just happens sometimes. He's been through 2 Jeep Grand Cherokees, and a Durango in the last 5 years, all spent more time in the shop than on the road, and his 03-04 Tacoma blew the radiator out the other day. What a lemon, I'd never by a Toyota after that :)

What a lemon

I'm sorry, that statement makes no sense. Are you familiar with what a lemon vehicle is? Obviously not.

Sounds good to me. I'm glad I've actually driven a ford to know what a lemon is. I'd hate to just post about how "I know someone with a ________ and it's a lemon." I've delt with what I consider crap. Have you? I'm sorry, this discussion can go all day since were comparing cars we have never owned. Maybe I should call the F-150 crap because I know someone who knows someone that drives one and it's junk.:)

Plus, I've driven a lot of the new Ford. How you ask? Because me damn Trac was in the shop all the time! Lets see... I drove: Fivehundred, escape, freestyle, Sport Trac, F-150 (04), and f-250... Both fivehundred, freestyle, and escape had rattling interiors, scratch easy plastics, noisy engines, and unconfortable rides. All were within 6,000 miles new. I can say that they do not compare to the Toyota's I have driven.

F-250, F150 I liked.

Not required until 100,000 km's (60K miles) so why would I have to flush the radiator before then?

I wouldn't mind if I had a sensor issue or something for a few hundred buck, but I don't think I should have 1000 dollar repairs in that time period. My 89 Jetta with 200K miles didn't even need a 1000 dollar repair.

Never had this problem with previous vehicles. They would always last 5+ years in my cars, my first ST had it last the full 2 years I owned it and my second ST had one replaced around the 2 year mark.
