I ran a Sony 1252 in my theater for several years. After a few modifications to the cooling fans, the projector was so quiet you had to stop and listen for it. The guy I sold it to is still running it in his theater to this day. The only reason I got rid of it was that the 12xx Sony series can only resolve up to 666p before the picture softens (7 inch tubes). Easy to work on, though.

$399.00 for a replacement lamp? Ouch! This lamp is rated for about 3000 hours, but starts to tint yellow after about 1500.
