Phoebe Snow, who sang 1975 hit 'Poetry Man,' dies

Phoebe Snow, a bluesy singer, guitarist and songwriter who had a defining hit of the 1970s with "Poetry Man" but then largely dropped out of the spotlight to care for her disabled daughter, has died.

Maybe I'm simply too young (hard to believe, having been born in 1970), but I honestly don't recall ever hearing of her, or the song. (It might be one of those songs I've heard a thousand times, but never knew the actual name--I couldn't tell you.) The article mentions her singing the International Coffees jingle--that rings more bells to me than anything called "Poetry Man".

Anyone have a (FREE) link which might have enough of the song to jar my memory?

I've never heard of her or the song.. but I was born in 81. In any case RIP.

I've never heard of this person or the song. It's definitely not one of those hits from the 70s whose fame lasted past the end of the decade, like Smoke on the Water or My Sharona (we could name many, many more...but this ain't one).

After listening to the whole song in the linked youtube video, I can see why I never encountered it before now (that I can recall), as it's not a song that's up my alley, so to speak.
