Plug In Front Of Radiator

Could someone tell me what the plug is used for between the radiator and the grill. I have

a 2003 XLT 2WD. I've seen this on a 2005 Sport Trac at a used car dealership also. Thank You....

Most likely you're referring to the outside temperature sensor that would be in the overhead console.

If it looks like a regular house hold plug, it is for the block heater.

I suppose a block heater is definitely an option, but it's currently 82 degrees outside here, so that's not the first thing that comes to mind, lol.

You kind of suck a little bit for saying that. It is 19 degrees here in central Missouri, and we have a dusting of snow on the ground. 8"+ in southern Missouri this afternoon...

Thanks for the information. I've never seen anything like it before. I mean the hook-up junction. Actually very little snow if any in central North Carolina.

Without that plug in front of the radiator the old sport trac wouldnt be starting this morning! ( Was -33 overnight here)
