It is hard to beat the OEM plugs. All those special plugs out there do not seem to do anything special for our Tracs. If you do a search you will find that most have gone back to the OEM plug after trying those "Special" plugs...

I just read an article in this months popular mech. care care. I was giving the reasons why ford used different plugs, on diferent cylinders on some engines. It did not list the Trac. I have read on this forum that some have found a mixture of plugs on there Tracs. So that article makes me wonder...I will scan it and post it in a different thread..It is intresting..

Fast Eddie,

It is realy interesting on the manufacturers point of view to using the different temp plugs...

I have also read in more than a few cases that members here have found as many as three different plugs in their Tracs. And in most cases, with the mileage they list it leads you to think that the plugs are the first set....

Hmmmm

Now I'm wondering if I have different types of plugs in mine. Will find out when I replace mine and the wires at 50K (I'm just over 21K now).

My dad just got a 1998 Taurus. The manual says the engine will have two different plugs. It also says to replace the plugs with a totally different number.

Go figure...
