I did a torsion twist on my ST, giving it a 2in drop in the front. Before I had it aligned, the steering wheel was about 45 degrees off to the left. After I had it aligned, the steering wheel was off about the same, so I had him re-align the steering wheel. Now, it's off by about 5-10 degrees to the left, so if I steer it with the steering wheel, it steers toward the right. BUT, it depends on the street I'm on, and how close to the center of the street I am. Now, I was in the parking lot at work, and it steered streight with the steering wheel straight. Is this normal with a torsion twist? I didn't notice it before. Do I need to get it fine tuned again? The alignment's good, it's just that the steering wheel is off...

Plain and simple the wheel should be straight, and the truck should go straight down the road.. Now all roads are crowned in the middle, So if you are on the right you have to steer left, and vise versa.. I bet the place is seeing that the camber is not adjustable and they are just setting the toe... You may need a camber kit.....ask for the print out of the specs...

The St is a "toe and go" alignment... most places only do that..

A good alignment tech will know how much to compensate for most road crowns...to where the steering wheel is close to center for most conditions. You could get them to retry, but if he is only familiar with written specs, it could get worse.

Does it track straight under all road conditions, with out you having to compensate??

I have to compensate as it trys to track right on streets if I straighten the wheel or let go, but as I said earlier, in the parking lot it's pretty straight. This is on dry pavement. I'll take it in later and see if I can get the steering wheel adjusted again. Either way, it's pretty annoying.

I decided to get an alignment done when my ST began to drift intermittently and mildly to the right when the odometer began nearing 20K miles. Camber kits were installed and ever since, the drift to the right has become a little more pronounced and it doesn't go away. Installer didn't know what to make of it. Maybe I just need to take it to a different spot when the next rotation is due.

if it says ford on the front.... the rear end alignment is usually minutely off especially when you put lowering blocks on it. Mine drove fine till i lowered it and it does the same as folks above state. i mean there is a window of 1/2 an inch in where the front spring hangers can land from the factory. a 4 wheel alignment will compensate for this by haveing the steering wheel slightly to one way or another due to the pulling of the rear end to one side slightly.

but mine still does it anyway--- 3 alignments later
