So my driver's side lock is the only one that will unlock with either the key fob, key pad or door button. All four do lock with the above three. When I press the key fob or door lock button from inside the cab I hear a click coming from behind the front dash to the left of the head unit area, almost from behind the little useless vent on the right side of the dash. I have a 2001 Job 2 ST.

Also, its burned out the power locks 25A fuse in slot 18 of the fuse panel just inside of the drivers door. Any thoughts?

Had a similar problem with my '05. The front door locks would sometimes not lock or unlock on one side and I'd here a click followed by a humming sound. This happened mostly when I attempted to use the drivers side door panel buttons to operate the locks. Fortunately it's still under warranty and the dealership replaced both front door lock 'actuators'. This maybe what's happening with your ST. The Ford parts #'s that they used is 4L2Z-78218A42-AA, Actuator assembly.

I've never heard of that. The problem I just had was my lock actuator came off the door, the rivet that it was attached with broke.

-Also, if you push the unlock on the key fob twice, or enter the door code, then the first 3 of the code again, all four doors will unlock.

The drivers door and the front passenger door have the controls to lock and unlock all the doors. Can the doors be locked and unlocked by using the button on the passenger door? If not, are any of the doors unlocked?? If any of the doors unlock, then it is probably an actuator at the non-functioning door(s). Can the doors be locked and unlocked from the drivers door?? Is the result the same as with the passenger door?? If yes then it is a problem common to both controls and probably the key fob. At this point turn to auto wiring specialist, not necessarily a Ford dealer.

How often does the fuse blow?? only when you attempt to lock all the doors?? Or will it blow W/O attempting to lock the car? Does it blow when unlocking the driver only door using the fob? If not but does blow when unlocking all the doors then one of the passenger door circuits has a short. Also if the fuse blows W/O attempting to lock or unlock the doors there might be other circuits on the same fuse causing the short.

With this said I somewhat agree witht he writer that concluded a frayed wire in the door lock system. And can be very difficult for non-trained to seek and destroy. This is like a water leak W/O any visible signs of a leak.

I never tried the passerger side button to lock/unlock the doors. I will try tomorrow.

As for the symptoms. All the doors will unlock with any method used. When locking the doors, only the drivers side front door actually locks by any means.

The fuse only blows when trying to use the power locks, and its the power locks fuse.

As for the noise, it seems to be coming from behind the air bag closets to the passenger door side. Almost between the middle of the passenger air bag and the dash defogger vent.

Thanks in advance for all your help. Haven't posted on this site for a long time, but its still the best.
