Question re; Belkin TuneBase for my iPod

I just purchased a Belkin TuneBase FM transmitter/charger so that I can play my iPod through my ST's stereo. My question is this - the unit plugs into the cigarette lighter outlet in the vehicle and then cradles the iPod for charging and music transmission on an FM frequency. The ST retains power to the lighter after the engine is turned off and the key is removed. As such, the power indicator on the unit remains lit even when the ST is not running. I am wondering if this would equate to a drain on the battery that is worth worrying about? With the iPod removed the unit is not sending a charge to anything so I would imagine that the drain is minimal at best to keep the indicator light burning. I would equate it to leaving a cell phone charger plugged in at all times. I thought that I would throw it out for input, though.

Have left my cellphone charge in my ST when I went into work. No problems with drain on battery. I doubt it would pull that much to worry about.

Hopefully, you are not leaving the I-Pod in the tunebase charger while parked. It may no t drain the battery, but it will be a big temptation to some punk to smash your windows and steal it.

Nope - it gets stowed or carried with. Sad that it would present a temptation but I am sure that you are right about that.:angry:
