re exhaust resonator

I was thinking of replacing my exhaust resonator with a straight pipe.

Hoping to get a little more of the v8 sound and get rid of some weight.

Are their any advantages or draw backs to this including emissions ? (2007 v8 )

Gibson makes a CatBack pipe that is a bolt in for $74 that is a DIY job

Thanks I looked up Gibson. Didn't see the pipe I will call Monday and get a product number. I see a place in Ontario near the buffalow boarder that is a distributar . Has anybody used their muffler ?

I ordered mine and they part numbered it with the 4.6 3V Limited - I send mine to the scrap or it would have been yours -

You could also have a muffler shop cut off your tailpipe and resonator and just bend a new one. Shouldn't cost much to do that.
