Recent Hard Starting

Over the past month I have noticed that my 01 seems to take longer to "fire" and start. The engine turns over about a half dozen times before it starts. It used to "jump to life" after just touching the key and a couple of cranks. The TRAC has 60K on it and I am replacing the fuel filter this weekend (I forgot at 30K). Could that be the source of the problem. Is there something else I should check or replace. The vehicle has never failed me and I don't want it to......any ideas......thanks....

IF not the fuel filter, IT could be a leaky fuel pressure regulator on the fuel pump. Unfortunately it is in the fuel tank and is part of the pump...



What you do is turn the key on but do not start the truck. then Waite 3 seconds. DO this 4 times before you start the truck, IF it fires right away it is a fuel pressure issue..
