Looks like Ia going to be on the dirty side of the storm. Buckling up the house today. Cant evacuate until my wife gets off work. All the other school districts around us closed already. Hers are a bunch of DA's

we live 50miles from Galveston. Storm going in just below that (predicted). My neighborhood will see some huricane winds. I live 4miles south of the houston ship channel. That is where our storm water runs off to. High tide is expected at the same time as land fall.

We are heading out to my folks 80miles north east from here. Will probably see some storm, but nothing like here at home.....keep us in your prayers...

Be safe... Good luck

Yeah, I live about 70 miles from where it's projected to make landfall. Not to worried about flooding here but hurricanes frequently spawn a lot of tornados and I will probably be without power for a few days. Expect to loose some shingles and probably my back fence. Both need replacing anyway.

Also, get ready for fuel prices to shoot up.

I was in Houston for TS Allison and the flooding that resulted. That place just does not drain. Ever spilled a can of oil or paint on the garage floor and seen it go to every corner of the room? That is what happens to flood water in Houston. I really hope that doesn't happen again.

To our coastal Texas friends, be smart like Eddie and leave. Tom is probably okay staying put.

F.E. and Cathy,

Stay safe and post us as soon as possible as to how you fared.

You're in our prayers and thoughts...
