Well over the last weekend I removed Blues bed and took care of all the rust back there. Thanks to a crap design, NY road salt they get beat up, YES, even with frame protection it still failed. The ST adren design without mudflaps allows the water to be thrown up on the frame. I found mud flaps that fit last year but the damage was done. Glad i caught it now.
PS the front half looks great, Not new but dam good. lol
Can upload only 20 photos so, here is half of them. You get the point.
Used Needle guns, Sanding, grinding, and POR-15 products to complete.
Enjoy the pics !!!

Looks much better. Never been more glad that i live in Carolina :)

Nice. I live in Ohio & should probably do this.
How difficult is bed removal? Couple bolts?

Great job done. Mine didn't come out nearly as good but it is a New England truck. Lots of salt used on the roads. My truck frame had lots more rust and cankers than yours. Hopefully, it will hold up for a long time.

Hey Todd
It came out great. Considering you live on the island of long, it really doesn't look like it was too bad. Lived there for many years and as you know, rust comes with the territory. Now if you would take the vehicle out of the garage and put some miles on it, the rust would have been worse. I mean with only 18,000 miles and a garage , I say it in pretty good shape. Lol

Very nice work!
You just showed me what I have to do to mine.

Por15 is good stuff!
I've used it too.
What quantity was required to do your frame?
Did you apply a finish coat?

A few bolts and some trim, I removed the bumper first clean everything. Gas filler, 3 people to lift it, and if its rusty, get out the torch or grinder. My front bed plate spun, cracked the fiberglass, Had to repair that too.

wow..you certainly arent afraid of work. great pics...now i see whats under that box.
that exhaust pipe is weird.
