Spark Plugs?

Personally, I prefer Motorcraft. IMO, the Motorcraft plugs are the best balanced plugs for the engine. The Bosch, NGK, Denso, Champion, etc. plugs will work, but I don't feel they are the best to use. They are more of a universal aplication where the Motorcraft plugs are vehicle/engine specific plug.

Be warned, if you do not have patience and the know-how to do the plugs, you are going to have a hard time changing them. You will cuss, scream, and anything else changing them.

Yup. You need to be careful when pulling the boot. You can pull the wire out of the boot. While you are going through the work of pulling the plugs, put a new set of wires on it.

It takes a little longer, but in the end, it is worth it.

Don't forget to gap 'em and use anti-sieze compound on the threads, as well as dielectric silicone on the terminals.

Like Tom said, take your time and do it right. Use the correct tools (boot removal pliers, sockets, swivels, torgue wrench, etc.)

pimpedoutst,

basicaly yes...

However, you will find our plugs a challenge. In most cases it is easiest to go thru the wheel well with the tire removed. Be careful not to tear a plug boot. If you do, replace the wire(s).

I always buy new plug wires when changing plugs....because, uh, I rip about half the plug wires apart every time.:lol::lol::lol:

This is partly why I don't keep my vehicles long enough any more that I have to change the plugs. Still, the wife's car just hit 50k and I can hear the plugs calling...."Change me, change me...."

The plug wire assassin is getting ready to strike....again.

Another warning, the late-model Ford ignition system does not get along real well with Bosch plugs, your best bet is Motorcraft or Autolite double-platinums.

I went with Autolite double plats and JBA Powercables at around 45K miles here. Haven't regretted all that work yet.

I would have regretted all that work if I didn't change the cables while I was at it.

As soon as I started to do the job I called the auto parts store and ordered the wires. Too much work NOT to change them.
