My dad lives in North Minneapolis and luckily the only damage to his house was the power was ripped off his house. The only fatality was 2 blocks north of him (person in a minivan - tree fell on it). He wasn't home at the time. When he got back to the area, he had to park 4 blocks away and walk. The main path of the tornado was less than 100 yards from his house. My aunt lives on the other side of the tornado path and she saw a funnel cloud go over her head. Luckily all my friends and family that live in the area are safe.

Similar story here in Brooklyn Park. Saw plenty of rotation on Saturday, and a couple of small funnels trying to form while airborne, but nothing more serious. Did get plenty of torrential rain both Saturday and Sunday, though--the low area behind our house which hasn't had any water standing in it at all in at least six years now has about four feet of water.

The worst we had in Coon Rapids where my house is was just standinig water in the road, the rain was coming down so hard the storm drains couldn't keep up with it. My neighbor had water coming up his driveway even, but within 15 minutes of it stop raining, it was all gone.

There is some damage about 1/4-1/2 mile north of my work (fridley near 694/univ) - part of a warehouse building lost some structure panels and 1 tree (verly large oak) smashed into 2 roofs. I haven't seen it yet, but my work building had a rooftop unit blown off and ripped a hole in our roof above our shop.

Here are some pictures from my dad's neighborhood where I grew up. It looks worse in person, granted not as bad as Joplin, MO. But the scenery definately has changed. There was one house I missed getting a picture that had 2 smashed up cars that used to be under a garage, but they're out in the open now.
