Tow Hooks

Are the tow hooks something special or can I just get them from anywhere? My ST didn't come with them and I would like to add them without spending an arm and a leg.

It would be easiest to get the factory hooks. You could try ebay, auto salvage yards, swap and sell, or maybe even a group buy.

CoastieJoe might be able to find some at a salvage. They only come on 4X4 STs.

Click on Members, Projects, Exterior Apperance, Tow Hook Installation. Mine didn't come with them either since it's a base XLT. I got a used set online. Put them on before I found this place, but it isn't hard to do. I want to take mine off to get them chromed if work would ever slow down a little.

My old st was a 2001 2x2 and had tow hooks. But now have a 2002 2x2 and it didnt come with tow hooks, so i looked on some ford wwebsite and found them for 99.99 and then got lucky and found them on ebay for $50. The instructions that came with it arent very good, use the instructions from the tow hooks project.

I have a 2002 Rear-Wheel Drive with tow hooks... it's part of one of the "groups" from 2001 and 2002 (Comfort, Convienience, etc).



Used them one time when I used my '96 Taurus to pull the ST off the sid eof my yard when I got the bumper hungup on the drainage ditch and spun all the mud out from under the wheels.



Kinda wish the Taurus had them too... Oh well.
