Hey everyone, I've got two questions that should be pretty easy to answer, but I have no experience with them so...first off I'm looking for tire chains that are good for snow and where to buy, and second...ok so my thermostat broke and that combined with electrical problems fried my engine. I recently got it replaced. Before I took it in the left blinker was blinking really fast but both lights were working. When I got it back from the shop whenever I flipped the blinkers on it would make a loud grinding noise. I figited with the bar for a little and the noise stopped but none of my blinkers work now. Should I take it back into the shop or is this a fuse or burnt bulb problem? Thanks
 
Well, it sounds like you have a physical mechanical problem within the steering wheel.



One very common issue with our Tracs is a wire harness that is too short in the column. To check this simply tilt the wheel to a new location and then try the blinkers. If they work properly then you have the wire issue harness.



Even if you do, I still think you have an issue that you do need to address.
 
How does an electric problem fry the engine? I can see a thermostat causing your waterpump to fail, but how does that fry an engine?



Did you overheat the engine causing one or both heads to crack? A cracked head does not constitute a new engine, unless you kept driving with your engine too hot causing your engine to seeze.



I am not picking on you, I am just trying to understand what is going on.

The steering wheel bearings are known for going and causing clicking and popping in the column, also if you tilt your steering up and down a little, there is a wiring connector in the column that is too short, ( common problem) and can cause the blinkers to act up...



As far as the tire chains go, any set with low spacing between ribs is good... Just watch if you have aluminum rims, you may cause damage to the rim, and if they are 15 inch tall rims, you may not have the clearance to get the straps in there...

no the electrical problem didn't cause the engine to fry, it made it so i didn't see that I was out of coolant, and when i was out of coolant the thermostat broke
