Hello MYSTers

Well as you know a couple of weeks ago I was having some issues with my truck surging up around the 65-75 MPH when I let off the gas and give it some throttle. Well I had said I replaced the TPS , put new spark plug wires, cleaned the MAF and the IAC. All to no avail, so I was able to bring it to the dealer, we test road it and at first they didn't know if it was the tranny or a misfire that would affect the tranny. Well they hook it up to a diagnostic and we went out on a test ride again. His computer did not show a misfire, he did feel again the rough ride I was getting and said it could b the tranny, remember I have check engine lights or flashing OD light? But he said that maybe the PCM might be bad and I could try replacing it first and if that doesn't improve just drive the truck until the tranny finally gives. Know I am awaiting the cost of them replacing the PCM but does that sound right to you guys???? Could I hav flashed it one to many times????:banghead:

Sounds to me like they are guessing. Parts swaping Could wind up costing you un-necsesary $$$.

Make them give in writing if that doesnt fix it, the $$$ is on them.

I dont think flashing with your xcal will cause it. Only if your xcal programs developed a glitch in the software, maybe.

If you have your xcal tune files on your computer. Reload them to the xcal. Then reflash your trac. Or if you dont have them Get Torrie to email them to you.

Yes I really dont want to keep thoring money at it, I do have my tunes on computer. The dealer told me there was an update to my trucks software so I will have them flash it. Now if I have an updated stock software will that affect Torries original tunes?

The dealer cannot update the ecu, with a custom tune in it. Got to take it take to stock tune. After you reload the stock tune. diconect neg battery treminal for 10minute. Then drive it a few miles, doing a couple of on off cycles. Some hae found this necssary, for relearn, when going back to stock program. Then let the dealer do the OEM updates.

Truck was at stock tune, dealer was afraid to reflash ecu because they think it could be the cause of my problems. I did what you said reinstalled my tunes from Torrie and still have that hesitating bumping problem when at higher speeds and giving slight throttle, seems worse at high speed going downhill with slight throttle. Dealer wanted 1k to put in a new, I declined as I really dont think its my ecu. I think it just may be the tranny :O(
