want my 07 v6 sport trac to sound like a v8

I have a flow master 40 on my truck right now. I want to give it more of a deeper rumble. What can i do to make that happen? what kind of muffler or should i do cat back exhaust done to it???

Put a V8 into it. (just like the comercial "I coulda had a V8)



Is the resonator off the exhaust system? That will make a difference. A different muffler will also make a lower note. Dual exahaust, removing the front cats, putting a high flow cat on, will all make a difference in tone and loudness. You can get close to the sound you want, but unless you have a V8, you won't get exactly the sound of one. It is a V6 of course.

Sorry, a V6 will never sound like a V8.



It just can't be done due to the nature of the firing order and harmonics, etc.

I feel it can come close by adding a ZabTeck MAFS housing, ZabTeck throttle body and a Magnaflow or Borla single-in / duel-out exhaust. Then get a SCT XCalibrator 2.

I have people asking me all time time WOW! is that a V8

but, then again when I had the throttle body spacer on

people would ask if I had a supercharger because of the whistle.
