Steve glad you're okay! I had this happened about 10 years ago. My buddy and I were going up to lake George for Memorial day weekend. We're on 287 and the back end of his Jimmy kept swerving, almost like it was hit by a huge wind gust. About 5 minutes later we hit a bump and the truck sat down onto the rotor on the rear driverside, tire went flying by. He managed to bring it to a stop on the shoulder without going over the drop off or hitting the cop that was giving someone a ticket about 10 feet in front of us. turns out he just had new rims and tires put on and the shop didn't torque down the lugs enough. scary when it happened

good thing u alright and stuff :) question to every1, isnt the dealer suppose to tell u to re-check and torgue down the lugs after 100 miles? i reckon they r suppose to, but i guess thats y we country folk dont fool with dealerships except the day of purchase lol

shvdnlayd, I know it usually says it in the small print on the paperwork you sign, both at the dealer I use and the tire shop I use.

Wow, this is food for thought. Just had 4 new tires put on at NTB. Proud of the tires, maybe I should go out now and check them..........................seriously...................naw...........ok....maybe.......

Trudat

again good thing u alright. the truck, well it will be in due time. trudat, it would be best to check them, just to make sure, i mean its better to know they good, other than counting ya chickens before they hatched, ya know. i know on our trator trailers u have to check the load straps every 200miles. After checking ya lugs after the first 100miles, u shouldnt have to deal with them again, less u come to the point of taking them off again.
