As stated above the system components matter most.. I have built and tested 6 different enclosure styles in my ST. The one I am most happy with now is my 2 10" setup. Because we are so restricted to space. you have to decide whether you want to keep your 5 passenger setup, or go to 4 or less. I myself kept the stock setup, and am using a 1.25 cubic foot enclosure with 2 10's.
But what works the best with our ST's is the rubber floors, it lets the bass resonate better throughout the vehicle. So you want to downfire your woofers. I personally have my woofers 1.75 inches off the floor downfiring, and on a new termlab meter did a 133.6 (Termlabs are usually around 4-6DB lower than conventional meters so it would have been around 137.6 - 139.6 on a standard).
I have done an enclosure with dual 8's and a single 10 and metered both. The 8's I used were rockford fosgate P2's and on the termlab I did a 130.1 (decent for 8's) and that was 2 P2 8's with a fosgate 500 watt mono amplifier wired @ 4 ohms. I did a single fosgate P1 10 in a 1.2 cubic foot box, with a circle port out the side (towards the door) and it did pretty good for a single ten at a whopping 131.5 with a fosgate p 3002 300 watt amplifier. All these numbers posted arent from different meters either, these #'s are from our termlab that we actually hold shows with. So all these #'s are dead on.
If you need any help with measurements just give me a hollar, I think I still have all the dimensions for the dual 8's, the single 10, and the dual 10.
Oh yea, and to build each of these boxes without carpet i think it costs right around 25 bucks per box....
