Why do you hate the competition?

I won't buy a Chrysler product again for a while. The last one I had, a Plymouth Voyager, pretty much needed a new engine at just 60,000. Plus I have had several friends with Chrysler products that had many problems. Maybe they are getting better. I used to like VW vehicles but thet have gone to hell like Big D mentioned.

I really, really like the uninformed answers and excuses some people give; they're quite entertaining.

I don't hate any car maker. I also don't hole any major preferences. It's just stupid to limit oneself to a single car maker, or 'country' based when dropping a large amount of money on a major investment.

I'm currently interested in three different cars; for three different reasons; from two different countries. None are 'American'. No 'American' auto maker makes anything I want, well, escept the GTO, but that's not 'American' in any sense of the word. Maybe that's why it's unlike any thing 'American' out there.

I dont "hate" any of them, I just prefer Ford. I guess it stems from "comfort". I bought a Ford, liked it, so I stayed with the brand. I have owned a Ford Bronco (full size), a Chevy Cavalier, 2 Subaru's, a Dodge Caravan, an F-100, a Chevy Spectrum, a Dodge Rampage, a Dodge Neon, an E150 conversion van, a Mercury Sable, a Mustang, and the ST. Last 4 vehicles have been Ford. Next one.... who knows. DW wants a Trailblazer or an Explorer. Once I get settled in my new job, we'll see. The ST....it'll most likely be around for a while. I thought about trading it so DW could get her new SUV and I could get a used Jeep.... for a second. :)

Driveway now holds: 06 Ranger EXT cab, 01 ST, 99 Merc Sable, 93 Mustang, 05 SRT-4. 4 out of 5 are FOMOCO......

I don't hat the competition but I do dislike so-called test and comparisons to other vehicles that are not even in the same class.

A good example is that several years ago the Sport Trac was always facing off against the Chevy Avalanche, which was a much larger vehicle with a V8 and a real gas hog!

Consumer reports claims that the old Sport Trac was lost between being truck or an SUV and did neither very well, yet it was roomier than the Toyota and Nissan 4 door mid-size trucks, had more towing power and better engine statistic than those trucks, that it rated as being better than the Sport Trac.

I think the Sport Trac is the perfect sized vehicle for me and my needs and it appears that a lot of people agree. If the Sport Trac was the perfect Pickup truck, I probably would not need one or own one, since I don't need a 100% pickup truck. The Sport Trac is unique in it's size and versatility. The only vehicle I think would be close would be the Honda Ridgeline.

But I think the Ridgeline lacks power, towing capacity and the interior is cramped by comparison to the Sport Trac, although it does have some good points as well. Intersting to note that the Ridgeline is not selling too well. Probably because of the high cost.
