03' 4X2 XLT 85K miles - What needs to be done?

Have the front wheel bearings and ball joints checked out. I had to replace mine at 93K. I did not replace spark plugs until 95K. I replaced OEM Ford shocks with Bilsteins at 50K. Otherwise, the usual things: oil changes regularly, service the transmission about every 25K miles, replace the axle...

    Stock Tonneau question

Depending on how "wide" the V is, I'd try some black body seam sealer/caulk. Just squeeze a dab in your cut and let it set up. Probably be hardly noticeable.

    grinding, rumbling sound. Need help

I had to replace front wheel bearings, plus ball joints at 93K. Heard a rubbing/rumbling sound out of the front end and had it checked out at Ford dealer.

    Suspension/ Poor handling

I replaced the OEM Ford shocks with Bilsteins at about 50K miles. Much better ride. Less side-to-side slop, better bounce control and feels more stable, even at 95K miles now.

    front end noise

I had to replace ball joints and front wheel bearings at 93K miles. Wouldn't be surprised if you don't need to do the same. I heard the noise and had it checked out. No other symptoms, except that now that it's done, my truck steers better, feels tighter on sharp bumps and feels tighter...

    Tire Wear

Wear on the inside of a tire usually indicates alignment issue. "Cupping" of a tire usually indicates a shock problem. Wear on both edges indicates routinely low tire pressure. Wear in the middle of a tire indicates routinely high tire pressure.

    Alignment after new shocks?

I put Bilsteins on my ST at 50K miles. Did not do an aligment. Put new Michelin LTX tires on at 55K miles and had the alignment checked then. It was fine. I had the vehicle thorougly checked at 95K miles. We replaced the ball joints and front wheel bearings (due to noise we heard, too) and had...

    Looks like my tranny...

Make a scene, throw a fit, threaten a lawsuit........get it replaced under warranty, whatever it takes. I like Ford, but they won't "jump" to replace your tranny........you'll have to force the issue. Go directly to the dealership's owner........demand an audience and demand satisfaction...

Air Intake/Aftermarket Exhaust (Any Mileage Gain?)

I put a K&N cold air filter package on my 2004 ST when I bought it in 2005 with 19070 miles on it. It gets about 20MPG on the highway and about 17MPG overall. It now has 95K miles on it and still running strong and getting about the same gas mileage, although we live in Colorado now. I have used...

    Shocks

I put Bilsteins on my ST at about 50K miles. It now has 95K miles on it. The ride improved noticeably with the new shocks and hasn't changed since. I put new Michelin LTX tires on at 55K miles and they've worn very well. Noticeably quieter than Goodyear Wranglers. The shock/tire combo has been...

    Tire Opinion Please

I put Michelin LTX P255/70R16 tires on my ST at 55127 miles. It now has about 95K miles on it. The tires were quieter than the Goodyear Wranglers and they've worn well. With 40K miles on them, I'm still not seeing any difference in road noise or ride quality. I also put Biltstein shocks on it...
