Finally heard from my dealer's Service Manager. "We've been over everything. All parameters check out. We've done a side-by-side comparison with another 07 V8 and we find the noise(s) to be normal and the vehicle OK."

I was floored. I mean, when you listen to this thing its easy to close your eyes and imagine being in an old jalopy. Don't know where this is going but I told them I don't want to see the truck again. Told them I'm ready to take it across the street (Toyota) and trade it in, and take the hit ($,$$$.$$), or consider what recourse I have against Ford. (It was now their turn to be floored.)

I then suggested he keep the ST and drive it, over the weekend, to better experience the noise(s) that infiltrate the cabin. His mood changed somewhat, agreed to the weekend idea, and to try more - next week. There's still hope but its fading fast. I'm a patient, tolerant person but I have a limit. Unfortunetly (for me) that also means not wanting to live with the rage associated with a 6-12 legal battle, as non-sensical as that may sound.

Still love my ST but hate my motor...........

When did you buy/what was your build date?? I wonder if it was only the early ones that had the problems... 5k on mine built mid-late July.... No problems

Good luck

My engine was replaced , new one is almost as bad as the old one.

Going to dealer this morning got a check engine light yesterday.

Quality Job one !

Same here, build date mid-July,,,,,,,,almost 3000 miles, no problems,,,,,,sorry to hear about all of these issues with the V8 ST,,,,,darn!!!

I had a GM that I had engine and drivetrain problems with. After three times I took it back to the dealer and start screaming in the showroom to stick the care up their a--! They finally took the car back and put me into another for the same cost. Unfortunatley, the second required a new engine also. I know that problems like these suck BUT FORD is the only manufacturer that will work to get it right. I have worked for OTHER manufacturers and FORD is the only one that will truly work until the car is where you want it to be. If you like the truck, take it back and tell them that you want a new one. If they fight you stand on a chair in the showroom and start telling people what is happeing to you - you will have a new truck by the end of the day!!!!

Good Luck! CROW

Chris:

Thanks for the insight and recommendation. I hope that you're right and things haven't changed at Ford.

When they asked me if there were other problems with my ST or if I didn't like the truck (feeling me out) I told them, without hesitation - "No. There's nothing else wrong w/ the truck and I do like (Luv??) it very much. I want this to work out and I don't want to have to go somewhere else, but I will. From that point I felt them soften up a bit and they agreed to work on it some more. (Some where in there I also highlighted that the noise problem really needs to be fixed, to my satisfaction, or the truck has to go.)
