I had the a/c charged today and the system checked for leaks and now it seems that the air flow has decreased on all four levels on the control knob. My question, is there an adjustment for the blower other than the controls on the console that could have been adjusted by the service tech?

Maybe he knocked a vacumm line loose. The air ducts arent fully switching. Look under the dash @ the bottom of glove box. There is a line there that can fall off. Also under the hood on the firewall on that side. You should see the small hard plastic line.

Thanks, already checked under the dash but all seems okay there. It was too dark to see under the hood so I will check that in the morning. I guess what I am asking is there something that the tech would have adjusted with the air flow when he checked for leaks and refilled the freon. Just trying to be prepared for when I speak to him in the morning. Are these the only 2 locations to check?

Is it on max air? Also if he was mearuring dash discharge air temp. He might have closed a few registers.

It is set on max air. Not sure if he tested dash temp. Good question for me to ask in the morning. All of the vents are open on the dash. Are there internal registers, if any, accessable the lay-person?

Could be coincidence, but. Maybe the fan motor resistor is going bad. I think it is under the hood close to the harness to the fan motor.

I cant think of anything he may have done to cause it.

When you switch the duct controler. AC max AC and other setings. Does the system switch from AC to max AC, floor to dash to defrost, etc.?

Is the fan speed actually changing?

It will change through the settings normally and fan speeds remain the same. It is just when it you have the a/c setting on max ac or ac the fan speed is much less than it used to be.

Seems then that your duct is not shutting off the out side air.

What regular AC does is brings in outside air.

Max AC shuts that off and recirculates the inside air only. That is why the fan seems to blow harder.

Check the vacuum connection under the dash again. It might be split or not on good. There is a Tee that the line hooks to. Then it connects to a module, and goes up into the box for the blend doors, and Max AC switch.

Also with the engine running and Max AC take the tubing on and off see if anything changes. If not, see if their is vacuum on the tubing. If there is. The diaprhram in one of the modules operating the blend doors, may be bad. Or doors Stuck or broken

Paul,

your link sends me to my library.

This has happened before. When someone has posted a link. I never could get an answer why.:banghead:
