check gauge

yesterday morning, left the house, drove about 2 miles, heard a beep, the check gauge came up and i noticed my temp gauge was maxed out about 30 seconds later it returned to normal. Didn't think much about it, but it done it again this morning at almost the identical place from yesterday and about 30 seconds back to normal. about 1 hr later headed to knoxville, about a 20 minute trip and it done it 2x on the way there and once on the way back. Anyone know what is causing this

Almost sounds like a sticking T-stat. If i am right, it is popping open as compared to slowly opening...

and most likely it does sound like a sticky thermostat.



check the top of your t-housing for the infamous leak.
