sorry if these questions have already been asked, but yunno im new, so im pretty ignorant at this point... i just bought an 05 xlt premium... which means the radio is satelitte ready.. my question is if i want to activate it or i guess purchase it, can i go to a best buy or similar store to get it done there? or is the ford dealer the only option???

and since i didnt buy, in my opinion, an overpriced alarm system from the dealer, does anyone recommend any products?? i saw some products from mobileworks and they looked pretty high tech and cool..

thx for the help!

Don't know anything about satelitte ready, but I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with a GPS.

As for the Alarm. Anything made by Directed Electronics is top notch, from what I hear.

You have to purchase and install the Ford Sirius satellite receiver for your radio. I have also been told that the XM receiver from Ford for previous years is also a direct fit. These are available on Ebay.

woops correction: i meant satellite radio as in sirius, i wasn't thinking straight... thx for the advice tho.. is the kit sold at best buy??? or similar store

marc,

"Me" gave you a link to get the Satellite radio on ebay. Why pay the Best Buy inflated prices? From what I gather about the satellite systems, you need a genuine Ford kit, I highly doubt Best Buy sell a Ford kit. You best bet it eBay and installing it yourself.
