Rich, my thoughts are pretty close to yours. I think I understand the need for comfort and proficiency, and that practice is needed to get proficient. I also understand the need to go look and handle and try several.



Seems the bottom line is to find something that feels good, is big caliber, but small enough for C&C.



Although I don't have a huge bulge in my pants now, I don't think I need one from a weapon.

Might be better to buy a Taser since you don't run into all those legal issues, and since they will stop just about anyone, any size, and do not do any permanent damage. )Yes I know that there have been people who died after bing Tasered, but they are rare and only when other medical problems existed).



I would prefer a gun, but if you live in a state that does no have Concealed Weapon Permits, a Taser would be a pretty good alternative, especially for a woman. The new smaller Tazers fit in pocket, purse, or glovebox.

Keep in mind Tasers are not legal in all states either, and some require permits. All the same concerns with purchasing and carrying a gun come into play. Do your research if you want either.
