Also, I'm not sure why the announcement of no Adrenaline Sport Trac has caused such a hateful recoil from a group of once seemingly loyal ST owners?

Have you seen the 2007 model? Sat in one? Are you aware it has an ~300hp V8 option?

I guarantee if you drove a new V8 model you'd poop your 4.0L V6 pants.

As much as it pains me to admit it, Caymen is right. George wasn't around the in years past where the magazines quoted Ford execs and spokesmen confirming the ST was dead.

As for Lincoln, don't put words in Ford's mouth. The writer said the Zephyr is replacing LS, and he even pointed out that a new flagship MKS was in the works to bring the V8 back to Lincoln. "LS: Best Lincoln ever", wow, stiff competition. Even the ill-fated LSE was a relative pig.

Ya, I dont see not having the 07 adrenaline making a big difference. I mean, the adrenaline series is just upgraded seats, stereo, etc... maybe these are just all options on the new 07 ST's?

The 2007 SVT Adrenaline was different than the 2005ish Adrenaline.

SVT was to be lowered, full time AWD, supercharged, body kit, etc etc.

Hmmm.... let's see.... so what if they are chopping their own heads off! Think how many of us that wanted the Adrenalin for 07-08 will be looking for something else. Maybe ol' Billy F. will wither away and someone else that has the right idea succeeded him? ANYWAY, they don't listen or look here for any sentiments that the ST owners have, and probably don't give a flip - that way they will quickly lose even more market share. Never thought that I would buy anything else but another Trac, but they WILL have me looking elsewhere. Even the new 07 Chevy Tahoe is attractive, though I have only signed once for a Chevrolet in my life! Look out BMW 7 Series ... I may be looking at ya!

BlacTrac-

There are a few of us here, myself included, who don't care for the '07 ST a whole lot. Be it looks, suspension, interior, lack of a roll down rear window, whatever, it just isn't what we're looking for in our next vehicle. To me at least, the brute power and speed promised by the SVT Adrenalin was enough to overcome the ugliness of the '07, and the SVT body enhancements, even when watered down for production, may be enough to cause the new ST to be tolerable to the eyes.

A whole 300HP? WoW! Let me go ring the high heavens and let them know to open me up a spot, for my salvation has come and I'm ready to go. Please....300HP in a truck is nothing. Certinaly not enough to make me poop my pants. Maybe enough for you and your pants in the black leather Recaros of the Focus...but the rest of us who aren't afraid of power, 300 HP isn't much to write home about, enough to pull and haul more, but a high 16 second quater mile is in the realm of the slow.

I, as well, am disappointed that the SVT version will not be produced, but I can see Ford's motive to do it, even though I don't agree with it entirely. However, I was planning to be one of the few who would own the rare, sweet looking, and even sweeter performing vehicle. I loved the looks of the Adrenaline and the performance that accompanied it, but I guess I'll just dump more money into my current 2001 that I would have spent for it.

WOW, I hope they look at this thread since they supposedly check out the forums for reference and realize how many customers they just lost. If this upset us this bad imagine how many others who were potential buyers, tisk tisk Ford. You sure are f#%@$!&g up lately.

The main problem at Ford right now is that one of the ladys of the Ford family has been put in charge of the new/specialty vehicle divisions. She hates SUVs and muscle cars!!!! She would rather put all their attention on the cars as thats where SHE thinks thats where it should be.

What a crock, listen to the Ford owners.

I drove a new 300 HP Explorer. 4.6L 3 Valve.

I was pleasently underwhelmed. I was expecting a powerhouse. I was really let down. I don't know if it was the 6 speed tranny or what, but it was nothing to be excited about.

No big loss here either... I didn't like it, nor did I want one. I surely had no need for a lowered street truck. I'm not too pleased with the '07 overall, especially the ugly chrome front end.

While I do not like the new Trac, The Adrenelin would have made me forget the short comings of the new Trac.

I would bet the Adrenalin would come with color matched grill and AWD. That alone is a step in the right direction. Just add a Limited Slip differential and you would have a winner. Then again, dumping the IRS would be a good step too.

I wonder if Ford will decide to put Drum brakes in the back...It wouldn't suprise me. LOL

Tom

(I know it has 4 wheel disks, so don't correct me)

My dad was looking to get the Adrenalin but now he might end up getting the Dodge SRT-10 Ram.

Good for him. One potential customer Ford is going to miss out on.

Tom

Just when the other companies are introducing high performance suv's and trucks Ford is backing out. There is the Trailblazer SS, Jeep SRT8, Dodge Ram SRT10, and now what does Ford have? Bad decision and the new V8 is onky 1 second quicker than our V6. I was seriously considering the Adrenaline and now it's gone. If the SRT10 quad cab wasn't so expensive I would love to get one of those.

George

With the premium price that Ford would have offered the SVT version, I'm sure that a Mustang supercharger would probably cost less. With a good base V8, there is a huge amount of aftermarket performance mods that will make the new Trac run strong.

What's the big deal? Ford still has the other sporty vehicles s cars: the 500, the Freestyle, the Freestar, and the Crown Victoria. Ford is "focusing on giving its customers what they want."

I never considered something that is the same as the regular model "sporty". Like buying an Explorer Sport. What makes it so sporty that it requires the name "Sport"? Give it 300 HP, then it is Sporty.

Oh boy Tiger. You of all people should be wowing the 300hp, because correct me if I'm wrong, you at one time purchased an ST with a paltry 210hp. Not to mention the ranger with that firecracker of a V6 you're driving now. That engine hits its 150hp max right around its 3800rpm redline, correct? As for the attack on my "powerphobia", gimme a break. You're not an idiot, you can see the disparity in potential between the vehicles. ST's don't do autocrosses. SVTFs win them. But thanks for remembering me though, and sorry the seat envy has gotten to you so badly.

I'll say it again, I don't understand the recoil and the pompous exclamations. People who were SUPPOSEDLY just waiting for their SVTA to be delivered so they could write a check for about $40K are now so flustered theyre jumping ship for a $75K luxury car? Gimme a break. Maybe Ford did give up a little to the $50K Ram monstertruck, a switch that seems at least conceivable. But even then, those are completely different trucks. Maybe the six of you that are spitting mad should all get together and write a letter? I'm very disappointed to hear the SVTA is doomed as well, the news just didn't cause me to fly off the handle all irrational-like. Thank goodness Ford's success doesn't hinge on the release of a niche performance SUT.
