Is there a thermostat tat works remotely?

My "new", to me, house's thermostat is located in a very bad spot. Dead air area. When the furnace finally comes on the temp reading will drop 3-4 degrees. Then run until I can't take the heat anymore.

So I want to put a sensor in better location and transmit to the controller so I dont bake /freeze alternately.

I would just move it but the way the bouse is built I can't get access to the inside wiring.

My brother (An HVAC Tech) just installed this thermostat in his house. Probably has more bells and whistles than a normal person really needs. Touchscreen controls, will connect to your humidifier and control that, etc.. There is an optional indoor temp sensor available as well, but I am not too sure how it operates. It says it can be no further than 200 ft. from the main screen.. Hope this helps.

edit: The honeywell site says that the sensor (C7189U 1005--29 bucks on ebay) averages the difference between the main unit and the sensor to control the furnace.

This indoor sensor is designed to sense temperature at a remote location and send this information to the VisionPRO

Thermostat. This sensor can be used as a stand alone sensor or as part of an averaging network. Once a remote

indoor temperature sensor is connected to the thermostat, the thermostat’s sensor is no longer used. The thermostat’s

installer setup should be modified to tell the thermostat that remote indoor temperature sensor(s) have been used.

Inside temperature reading on the thermostat’s display will be the remote sensor(s) temperature location(s).

ALSO there is an adjustment in every digital t-stat that you can adjust the temp swing that you want... Most are 4-5 from the factory...

This means if it is set at 68 it will allow the house to go up to 73 and down to 64....

Thanks,

My master bedroom is the coldest room in the summer and the coldest room in the winter. You think it would be one or the other,,Odd !!

Believe it or not running a new wire to a location that is more suitable is easy. I also have the touchscreen thermo, it works great.
