Anyone ever figure out how to get those ugly caution stickers, off of the sun visors.

Thanks..

I peeled one off of the driver's side and ended up with a bunch of ugly glue...

...so I left the other two on

i juust slowly and carefully peeled them off one day.

passenger side came of clean, i got a little hasty with the drivers side. but not noticeable

I still need to do it to the ST, but I had an upholstery shop recover the ones in the Explorer for me. Charged me $15 a piece...

This is something I Just did, put some rubbing alcohol on the sticker (couple times) let it set.

Pull sticker off, no glue, scrub down visor with rubbing alcohol, done.

Bill,

Overall, your alcohol idea seems to have resulted in minimal appearance aftermath.

My question is, what type of alcohol and brand?

All I have around the house is Smirnoff and Crown Royal . . . I imagine the Crown may stain a little, so I'm leaning towards the vodka . . . . What . . . nothing? I guess I'm the only one who cracks me up sometimes.

Sorry, I couldn't resist . . .

The real question I have is, although it looks better than I expected, how is it to the touch?

What I mean is, did the alcohol leave behind any/much residue after the final wipe-down?

Did you loose any of the softness due to the abrasiveness of the alcohol and wiping?

I notice a darker discoloration in the area and I wonder if that is due to a texture difference.

isopropyl, 70% longs drugs, had no effect on the fabric, discoloration is because it was still wet. Would vac them first, lots o dust

Just did the drivers side also, no issues, I think the trick is to let the alcohol wick under the sticker, the glue seems to come off with the sticker.

Use a bunch, has no effect on the fabric, I removed them to do it, 3 screws, no biggie.

Set them in the sun untill dry.

Do I get a wrench for this complicated proceedure?:) gotta be a 4 wrench project.

Bill if you write it up with pics, we can get you a wrench for it......

I plan to do same soon.

Bill, It sounds like you've already removed both your stickers. If all goes well, I'd be glad to send you my pictures so you can get your wrench (or socket)! :)

Let me know

I think I'm visiting this site too often and its getting into my head . . . . it may be its ESP or it may just be coincidence, but I was just picking at my stickers this weekend and wondering if it was possible to remove them with minimal to no traces. I decided to leave it alone for the time being . . . . and then there was this thread.

(Same with the moonroof thread that just posted. I was wondering the same as ST Sails just yesterday)

To be honest, until Eddie posted, I never really noticed the stickers, had to go look and see if i had them:lol ,than driving the st yesterday, i kept looking at them, the more I looked at them, the more they were in my face

Thx Eddie. hella Mod, are gone now:)

Pass one @ the project was not a success.
The 2 screws have been removed.
Then i came across the wires for the vanity light.
Unfortunately there is no obvious way to remove the wires.
Does anyone have experience with this to help me through?
I will post pictures when i get home.
