If you go in October you can stand on the ground where the atomic bomb went off. It is open twice a year to the publuc, and Ithink it is April and October.

I went a few years back, very moving.

Ummm... The Inn of the mountain gods is not in Ruidoso Downs. The Billy the Kid Casino is in the downs at the race track. The inn is on the reservation in mescalero.

The atomic bomb thing was last week.

I think the question is where are you going to be in NM. Northen, middle or southern?

If you are going to be in southern NM I would suggest Ruidoso. Great little town with lots to do and see.

Northen NM I would suggest Taos

Hey Boodro, (and all other interested)

I used to live in New Mexico and have been to the church mentioned. Interesting story actually. Can't really remember the story, but it had to to with a mysterious carpenter who made it. I think it took him a year to make it, and it is forged out of 1 piece of wood. Yep, a single piece. After it was created, the gentlemen left without asking for payment. (heavenly story, somebody from up above?) New Mexico is a very cool place. Kind of makes me homesick right now. ha ha ha Have fun on your trip.

I use to spend a lot of time in NM. My grandparents owned a motel on route 66 in Tucumcari. I would spend just about every summer there. There is a whole lot to see there. Northern NM is my favorite. Taos, Red River. The Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad in Chama is one of my all time favorites.

Carlsbad Caverns is a must in southern NM. And if your in the Roswell area you can see real live aliens.

Nelson. They're not all green. Sometimes they are hard to tell from regular people. Plus the government tries to keep them hidden.
