Whats Up With this?

Just bought an 05 in November and have been lurking around here since and now I need your help please. Yesterday Morning the Battery was dead, no apparent reason other than we did have low temp weather so we jumped it off this afternoon with no problem, drove about 14 miles and went in shopping for about 20 min. Trac started up but noticed a clicking sound and the oil and battery guage had not moved from L about 15 sec later both guages suddenly jumped to normal readings also noticed the trip odometer had also reset itself to 0.. any suggestions on what the problem may be? New Battery? I hope its something that simple.. :unsure:

Sounds like your 3 year old battery is toast. You can take it to a place like autozone to get it tested.

I still have my original battery (02) and it is showing no signs of giving out, but I might not wait and do something this year. I had one of my cars some years ago die about the same time (3 years). I think sometimes it is the luck of the draw.

Batteries are not made like they used to be. I can remember having batteries for years *more than three* before they gave out, but I had to replace my 04 battery back in November.



Dan, you did get the luck of the draw! Amazing isn't it, that your battery since 02 has not given out?

That is some of the same things that happened when my '04 battery, went bad. Even my door locks were acting up. Replaced it with Auto Zone gold. everything lined out.

Though it could be the alternator,,, like the others, I am betting battery based on your description.

Hopefully problem solved.. Had Battery tested today and it showed it was bad so my trac Now has a brand new battery.. we'll see in the morning if it worked..
