    It' mine........

Yep, all mine as of today! Bank probably said they didn't need my money anyway. Nice feeling with only 51,000 miles on her. Still runs like a top and no issues (other than tires) thus far. Want to just say thanks to all those that contribute to this site.....it's great. Can't tell you how...

    Cat Problems!

shaun t. I know exactly what you are going through as it happened to us years ago with our beloved cat. He had the surgery as well, but in the end (the last surgery) he just wouldn't wake up from the anesthesia. At least he went calmly and in no pain..... except in our hearts. Our cat...

How many of us served in Vietnam?

February 1969 to February 1970.... Served with the 69th Signal Bn, at Tan So Nhut Air Base in Saigon. Actually worked at MACV J-6 supply with runs to our supply centers around the area. Dangerous travel and will never forget the nightly B-52 drops that rocked me to sleep!!

    Bridgestone and the Sport Trac

I only chime in occassionally, but have to remark that my last post commented on the 'thump-thump' of the Wranglers and my displeasure. I took care of that today with a set of Dueller H/L Alenza tires. What a remarable difference! I needed more of a highway tread and wanted some good comfort...

18,000 And the Bottom Fell Out!

Tracnblack, If it makes you feel any better I'm about to turn 20K on my 05 XLT Priemium and I've had the 'thump and bump' for the past 4-5k miles. After reading all the related info on tires versus shocks, problems with this and that, I decided to just live with it until I get to a...

    Throttle Cable BS Mod

Bill, You are absolutely correct in most of what you proclaim. However, if for some reason the cable is too long, stretched, or elsewise not correct for some reason it would or could make a difference at the throttle body. In my case, I now enjoy being able to hop in my wife's Pathfinder and...

    Question

Here's a loose 'rule-of-thumb'. Assume you paid 25K and signed the papers and drove off. Before you got home it was worth 20 percent less than the negotiated price!!! That gets you somewhere close to 20K. After the first year it depreciates another 10-12 percent and brings you in at the mid...

    Future mods

Okay, I'm starting to get the hang of this mod stuff since the last two have really improved the Trac. Now for my questions and your advice: 1. I want to lower the Trac maybe 1/2 to 1 inch front and 2" in the rear, is this going to require a front-end alignment after the torsion bar...

    Throttle response 2

Do a search on throttle response and see if you can find something there. If you can't, I'll 'root-around' and come up with something for you. Here's the place to go that describes it all..... http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4854

    Throttle response 2

Just completed and test drove the Trac after the suggested cable tie 'trick' to the throttle cable. Man, what a difference!!! I thought I was in another vehicle! You guys and gals are the greatest. Thanks again...

    Throttle response

Andy, Check the Projects. It's there and many more to facinate you also. My next improvement will be the throttle cable adjustment if needed. Just do a search on that back 180 days and you'll find lots of info ont hat. Good luck.

    Throttle response

Haven't posted for some time, but thought I'd let the Trac owners know of a small mod that has really enhanced the Trac's responsiveness. In my last post I complained about the lack low end-power and throttle reponse. I finally decieded to try something or anything to improve both. I added a...

    New owner

I too am a owner of a 05 XLT Premium. I traded an 03 Dodge Club Cab with a 4.7 V8. It had all the power needed to be fast and tow. I was averaging 15.5 mpg with it and have 4K on the Trac now with an average of 16 to 16.25 with much less power. I have had to rethink my decision. I knew the...
