No. You are supposed to have floor mats. I would talk to the manager about it. They probably misplaced them, since most dealers will take them out so they don't get soiled during test drives. In fact, if you look at your window sticker, it will have "berber floor mats" listed.

It most certainly came with floor mats.. Tell them to order you a set, and as Nelson stated, on your window sticker it will have floor mats listed...

Fred,

Think about it, if they lied about something that is suposed to come stock and doesn't cost them anything, would you trust them with the lifeblood of your Trac?

Demand your floor mats AND then tell them you are going to never buy from them again and all your friends will know they are liars.

Good point. They might put water in the oil to get back at you. Kinda like sending food back at a restaurant, I'd never do that. May get it back with more than you ordered... :D

Yeah, hot-foot it right down to the dealer, puff up your chest and demand your floor mats! Then, when they give them to you and apologize for their mistake, beat yer chest and tell them they SUCK and you are going to make it your personal lot in life to tell everyone how BAD they suck. This will be GREAT for your blood pressure and assure you will have one less dealer to work with...the one that sold you your Trac and the one that should more than most want to work with you in the future.

Maybe you could go in, talk to a manager, let him or her know that you think a salesperson, who is human too and may have just started, gave you some incorrect information and you would appreciate your berber floor mats. Let them know that you love the vehicle and look forward to great service and a long, happy relationship and you would hate to see an oversight and misunderstanding like this start that relationship out on the wrong foot.

It's your choice...pick one!

I have a base XLT and it came with the berber mats. Most salesmen actually know very little about the the vehicles they sell, since they were just living in a bus station the week before when they got hired, given a shave and haircut, and a business card with their very own name written on it in real Crayon (they're not allowed sharp objects). After work they get marched onto the short bus holding the knotted rope and go back to the shelter. On most vehicles mats are optional so they just assumed that they are on ST's also. Probably. But yeah, I'd make them give you a set.

It might not have come with mats. I bought an XLT and the mats weren't listed on the window sticker. If it's not listed, you didn't get them. Check the sticker.

I agree, some salesmen don't really know what they're talking about. This really irks me. I can understand how a tech guy at a Best Buys may not know everything about everything, but a salesman with only so many models of vehicles should know everything about a $30K vehicle.

Marc, your 05 XLT premium should definitely have come with berber mats, front and back. Make sure they give you the right ones and not just a lesser set.

I checked the Ford web site below (see link). You will notice the XLT has berber floor mats included. The XLT Premium has all XLT features, plus a list of additional items.

thx for the advice.. yunno on the window sticker it doesnt say it comes with floor mats and on the ford website, it only implies that it comes with it, when it says it includes everything plus these option.. anyway, i just brought my car in so they can fix some paint chips and small scratches, i bought my car at nite and really didnt notice anything... but when i do pick it up.. ill definetely pitch a bitch about the mats... i totally just took the salespersons word.. he said these are the sports tracs are.. and so i was trying to find the logic in that.. and i was beginning to believe it was because it was an outdoorsy vehicle, so rubber floors would be easier to clean.. so thx for all the replies, ill definetely fite for some damn mats.. btw, i think my salesperson really is a retard, cause he said that the rear windows roll down manually.. haha

Rear windows roll down manually...lol. The logic is correct about the rubber floors on ALL Sport Tracs regardless of trim, but your XLT premium should definitely come with the carpet mats. The front ones have Sport Trac stitched in red along the side and install via positive retention clips, while the rear ones are just plain carpetted mats.
