I have owned an 08 Limited AWD Edge for over a year now, awesome vehicle! Does everything well and we are very happy with it. IMO it looks a whole lot better than the Murano. Murano tranny complaints eliminated it from consideration for me.........
I do agree it's unique..........and I think it makes sense to have the rubber option, but they are missing it big time by not offering a carpet option, at least on the Limited!
Not to change the subject.........but has anyone installed carpet and trashed the rubber floors in their Tracs? It was the first thing I did when I bought my new 07 (see my library). Is carpet an option in the 09s?
Does anyone know for sure how many prongs the flasher module has on the 07 and 08 Tracs? Should be 2 or 3? I want to order a grounded replacement flasher so I can run LEDs in the tail/turn/stop lights. The stock flasher will not operate LEDs. Just thought I would check before crawling under...
I love mine.......no leaking or blowing up concerns. I used a billet tray that doesn't cover the battery, locks down with a conforming shape base plate that screws in, real solid. Got it @ Costco.

I know you have an 05 and my tool box is in an 07, but NO! IMO a tool box in a small bed doesn't look strange. My box was/is the best mod I have made to date.........very useful!
I can still close the factory cover and of course lock the tool box when the cover is off the truck. I have...
Motorcraft are great filters for the $$. From what I have read and experienced, any filter made by Champion STP, Bosch and Mobil 1 are very good filters..........kinda like good, better best with Mobil 1 being best. IMO Fram filters are garbage except for the HP line. /bRAD
Mercury lights mount on an angle and do not come on unless the hood or gate is lifted to at least half way open. They are also easily adjusted by bending the bracket. No issues with coming on while parked, driving et. I like them because they don't require the key to be turned on or the door...
You can get 12V mercury switches and light all in one unit from any boneyard. GM used them on just about every car they made in the 70s/80s as underhood lights. They will take a 1156 or 93 type 12 auto bulb. they only have one wire (+) and ground to the body so you would have to run a ground wire.
I wouldn't think you need a relay as lights don't pull big amps, unless you are talking halogens, but to illuminated the bed you wouldn't use Halos. LEDs pull even less than standard 12V bulbs and companies like Recon et use LEDs in the truck bed lights. /bRAD
Thanks for the commnets, however I have always felt the name "Explorer Sport Trac" was a big mistake by Ford. Really hate that name, and part of the reason for the F100 emblem is when you remove the super ugly huge Sport Trac badge it leaves two locator holes in the tailgate that need to...
FYI........the best add on I have done to date is the custom diamond plate tool box for the bed. See my library for Pics. It's a real useful accessory and I use it daily. Fits under the OEM bed cover and I can slide a set of golf clubs under it to the end of the bed. I have the drawing (specs)...
No spacers..........just the result of 4.5" backspace wheels that are 9" wide. Scoop is from Auto Mega (Custom Auto Trim) and the Grill is a complete 4 piece Billet set that requires cutting out the original grille from the OEM shell.......Carriage Works grille. /bRAD
Installed new TQ nostalgia rod wheels on my 07 Trac this weekend.
I like the nostalgic look as you can tell from the Pics. Similar to Torque
Thrust D Wheels, but cleaner. Wheels/Tires Specs: 18x9 with 4.5"
backspace, Toyo Proxes 275/55R18. No clearance issues. See my
library for...
