    ? For Electrical Geru

Bill-E has the best answer; that way you aren't killing tons of power running your resistor divider. If you need a more tunable voltage, the LM317 is also very easy to hook up, and will give you an adjustable output from 1.2V to V+rail - 1.5V. So on a 13.5 V system, your range will be...

    Lucas products

The only thing I wouldn't use is an oil additive. Though lubrication porperties may seem to be better, many oil additives (including Lucas products) cause the oil to foam easier, which is not a good thing. As far as oil goes just run a good conventional or synthetic motor oil with no...

    OT: Best HDMI cable?

You guys hit the nail on the head. I kinda have to chuckle when I see "gold plated USB cables" and the like. These are digital signals guys, they are not susceptable to the glitches and anomolies in cables that analog signals are. Digital is digital; either it gets there or it...

Do I need a 4x4 to travel to Monument Valley

Depends on the weather. If dry is forcasted, you should be OK. If it is wet, you may not want to leave the pavement in a 4x4. Let alone a 2x4. The mud out there is like a mixture of clay and sand..gums up your tires pretty bad, and the more you spin, the deeper you sink...

What's the latest and greatest CD ripper software

OK, lots of software available, but not all of it is "good". MP3 Compression - Many MP3 Compression techniques available, but only one stands out as giving you copies that are completely indistinguishable from the CD itself. And that is the LAME MP3 codec. Do a google search for...

    OMFG Engine Rebuild!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caymen, You are preaching to the choir. I do my own work, so I know how cheap they are. But for those who choose to go to Les Schwabb or Big_O_Tires to have the work done, they are going to pay about 20% more for parts, and $65 per hour shop rate.

    OMFG Engine Rebuild!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, keep in mind he didn't specify the extent of the work. If you need all new pads, shoes, drums/rotors, a caliper or two..........it can add up. I agree even the most extensive brake job (pads, rotors, and calipers), as well as all new balljoints, shouldn't get too close to $2000...

    OMFG Engine Rebuild!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are correct Caymen, For some reason I thought the entire block was aluminum, but after digging, It is Iron. The possible 3.5 DOHC the may be replacing it in the next couple of years is all aluminum, however....... cheers,

    OMFG Engine Rebuild!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't rebuild the tracs motor. Get a new/used one. Rebuilding after a catastrophic failure is asking for another catastrophic failure. Aluminum motors don't rebuild too well, esp after such failures. Usually, something gets warped, bent, or damaged to a point that the rebuild will...

    Dodge Nitro

Unfortunately, I am prohibited from liking any new Chrysler products due to all of the bad experiences with my Durango. No matter how cool they look. I have never owned a more unreliable vehicle. Although recent tranny issues with my Trac have got me thinking there is a Toyota or Nissan...

    Lucas Oil question

Lucus Oil additives are a no no...... They do live up to their claims, but they also cause the oil to foam easier. Getting thousands of tiny little air bubbles in your oil system is not a cool thing. Royal purple oil is great stuff, so is Amsoil, but Lucus, or any oil additive for that...
